Kanayamidori originates from a Yabukita cultivar that was crossed with a tea plant called Shizuoka Zairai number 6. It is slightly late maturing with a sprouting period about 4 to 5 days later than Yabukita. Kanaya midori is a unique tea with a slightly creamy smell, which is suitable not only for Sencha, but also for oolong tea.

It has a rich grassy taste with soft sweetness, milk-like creamy flavor with unique character accompanied with fruity notes of peaches.

This tea has a beautiful balance of aroma, astringency, sweetness and umami.
