Kagoshima Benifuki Kaori Sencha

Kaori, translated as fragrant, is a special experimental tea made from organically grown leaves that are withered before steaming to intensify the aroma of the tea.

It has been produced experimentally from the Benifuki cultivar. The tea lacks the grassy and algae-like notes typical of Japanese teas, which makes it interesting even for people who have not yet acquired a taste for Japanese teas for this reason.

The taste is is similar to lightly oxidised oolongs with sweet floral notes of a Freesia and a long pleasant aromatic aftertaste.
