Uji Matcha Ujihikari
A Japanese ceremonial-grade matcha made from the rare Ujihikari cultivar, grown in the world-renowned Uji tea region.
The tea bushes used for this matcha were traditionally shaded for one month before harvest to enhance sweetness and umami flavor.
The Ujihikari cultivar was developed by the Tea Research Center in Kyoto Prefecture in 1954 under the name Kyoken Nº170 (京研170号), selected from native tea plants originating in Uji.
